Code, policies & standards
Everyone at AstraZeneca is required to be aware of, and conduct their activities in accordance with our Code of Conduct and all supporting policies and applicable codes, and the laws and regulations of the countries in which we work and do business.
OUR NEW CODE OF CONDUCT
During 2007, we reviewed and expanded our Code of Conduct to provide clear direction as to how our high level values are to be translated into consistent actions across all areas of our business. The new Code went into effect in July 2008. Read more.
ENHANCING OUR GLOBAL POLICY FRAMEWORK
To ensure that the new Code is fully supported with clear guidance on what the high-level requirements mean in practice, we also revised and enhanced our Global Policies and the 11 new Policies came into effect in January 2009. Read more.
ONGOING DEVELOPMENT
We are now focused on streamlining the standards and procedures that support the Global Policies to provide more targeted guidance on what is required of people in specific roles throughout the organisation.
NEW MEMBERS OF THE ASTRAZENECA GROUP
As part of due diligence during any acquisition, we work to identify and review potential reputational risks, including CR-related issues such as patient safety, sales and marketing practice; safety, health and environment, employment principles and overall culture.
We continue to work with new members of the AstraZeneca Group to ensure that our CR expectations are understood and that policies and standards are aligned.
